The Albrecht-Kemper Museum of Art will be temporarily Closed through December 11th
Fire officials were called to the Albrecht-Kemper Museum of Art on Sunday, November 13 at 8:00 am. The firefighters and Director, Brett Knappe arrived to large amounts of smoke in the loading dock area, but no active flames. The fire was electrical in nature and quickly contained, however the smoke did spread throughout the museum.
A professional cleaning service is at the museum to help with the clean-up. We are fortunate there was no significant damage. The permanent collection of artwork was in storage because of the Sugarplum Festival November 10-12.
The dates for the exhibitions that were scheduled to open on Sunday, November 20th will now be opening Sunday, December 11 from 1-4 pm. Updates will be given as clean-up progresses.
