Animal Portrait Drawing with Cody Wheelock

March 12 @ 10:00 am - 4:00 pm

Whether it be “man’s best friend”, a fuzzy feline, or wildlife out the window, pets and animals hold a special place in our heart.  In this workshop artist Cody Wheelock will lead students in creating charcoal drawings of animals.  He will explain the basics of using charcoal, facilitate some exploratory exercises and teach students how to incorporate chalk with their charcoal on toned paper.  Students will use their own photo reference as Cody guides them through the process of creating a finished drawing of their chosen subject.  This one-day class is a great opportunity for both beginner and experienced artists alike!

In-person class sizes are limited due to social distancing rules. If you would like to join us via Zoom from the comfort of your home, we now offer this option. For the safety of staff and visitors the museum is requiring everyone to wear a face mask at all times when inside the museum. Lunch will be provided for the in-person participants. Participants will bring their own supplies.
