Opening Reception open to the public at no charge from 4-7 p.m. on Friday, January 21, 2012.
Handmade abaca and flax paper and river willow are a couple of the items used to create Jo Stealey’s structures. The artist developed the pieces out of her “relationship with nature and reverence for the environment and its natural cycles”. As the viewer walks through the exhibition, the “forest” pieces appear alive and in various stages of life and decay as the elements work together to provide visual clues and layers of meaning.
