But wait, there’s more…

The Halloween festivities will continue at the museum the next day, on Tuesday, October 26 for another installment of the museum’s free-entry evening hours event. AKMA After Hours: Witches Brew Edition will take place from 5:00 to 9:00 pm and is free and open to the public. This event will feature kids activities and games, guided tours of the building, a cash bar with Halloween-themed cocktails, and a special “Witches Stew” dinner available for purchase.

Witches Tea: A History

Originally hosted at the Gothic Teahouse establishment in St. Joseph, museum volunteers brought the event to the museum in 2016 with the blessing of the event’s creator. Since then, Witches Tea has transformed from its original afternoon tea party format into a full day of entertainment. In 2020, Witches Tea was cancelled due to ongoing health concerns due to COVID-19. In 2021, Witches Tea will be transformed to allow for more spacing of guests, and a more individualized and intimate atmosphere for small groups.

Witches Tea promotes the AKMA’s mission to enrich the community by creating unique experiences, nurturing regional artists, and providing arts education. As the museum’s third largest fundraising event of the year, this event raises crucial funds for the AKMA’s operational budget, education programs, and community-centered free events.
