Ready to get back into pastels – or do you want guidance on where to start?

Learn how to work in pastels with Jill Tichenor. This class will have exercises to emphasize the use of the pastels and techniques and is great for both beginners and those that would like more guidance in their current pastel painting process.

Jill will discuss materials, show examples of her own work , and have a planned exercise to get everyone familiar with the materials. Students need plenty of paper so they have the opportunity to produce more than one painting.

Jill will inspire you with her love of pastels. She has been painting with them since she was a teenager. She has been a member of the Mid-America Pastel Society for the last 15 years.

Please note: There will be a special Art Field Trip on Thursday, May 25. We will be caravanning to the Hollingsworth Peony Farm west of Maryville, MO from the museum at 9am that morning. Class will not be held at the museum that day. Those planning on painting en plein air at the peony farm do not need to pay the extra field trip admission, but must pay the class fee to participate in pastel class that day. You can find more information on the Art Field Trip here.
