July 10 – August, 2018 (Tuesdays, 10:00 am – 1:00 pm)

Photographer and writer Alexis Clements with AKMA will host a workshop assisting students in developing their personal voice through photography, writing, and bookmaking.  This workshop guides students through a photography project that is focused on personal observation; tying together narrative, metaphor, and memory. Students may create images that are staged or found. Emphasis will be placed on the development of a concept and defining a visual style. The course will be broken into units including:

  • Concept Development
  • Visual style
  • Photography with writing
  • Choosing images and sequencing
  • Book layout & design
  • Final review

Supplies: Students may use any camera they have available to them, students will need the ability to print their images, and obtain bookmaking supplies as it pertains to each individual project.
