June 11:  Exhibition Opening  for The Restless Regionalist: Art of Joe Jones Public opening at 1pm

June 18:  St. Joseph Symphony Summer Concert Series
Featuring Richard Yeager, clarinet; Charles Badami, piano; Rico McNeela, violin, viola
Trios by Milhaud, Bax, and Uhl
$10 suggested donation at the door

July 9:  The Amazing Press Poetry Reading
Poets David Noe, Doc Arnett, Thomas Kirschner, Jeff Foster, and Melodye Hathaway will each read selections from their work.  There will be an opportunity to meet the poets following the reading.

July 16:  David Besona and Guests
International singer David Besona with be joined by Dr. Susan Carter and accompanied by Lorrie Singer on the Piano in a special performance.  Tickets for this event are $10 and can be purchased  below or at the front desk.



July 30:  St. Joseph Symphony Summer Concert Series
Charles Badami, piano, Rico McNeela, violin, Sascha Groschang, cello
Trios by Mozart and Tchaikowsky

August 6:  Bollywood Dance with Shaina
Shaina Kotwani and her dancers will perform choreography inspired by the Bollywood movie traditions of India.  Following the performance, an optional class will give patrons the opportunity to learn a few Bollywood moves.

August 20:  Solar Eclipse Brunch
The public is welcome to enjoy a “heavenly” brunch at the AKMA Café prepared by Chef Jason Thomas on Sunday, August 20th from 11:00 am – 1:00 pm.  Bloody Marys, Mimosas, and other special Cosmic Concoctions will be served.  Cost is $25/person or $40/couple and Reservations are suggested.  Call the museum or sign-up online below.

August 27:  Susanne Lehr Lecture on Robert Wilson
To celebrate the AKMA’s recent acquisition of a portrait of Senator Robert Wilson by George Caleb Bingham, local historian Susanne Lehr will present a lecture about the life and times of the St. Joseph leader.
