Children's Art Class: Gettin’ Buggy With It! Creating Curious Creatures. For ages 8-12. 1:30-3:30pm. Cost $10 per student, $8 for museum members. Join art instructor Mary Helen Stuber for a fun-filled afternoon. Inspired by nature and their imaginations, students will create a giant, whimsical, hanging insect with colorful papers and other materials. This fantastic flyer will liven up your bedroom or any other area of your home!

Free Family Day.
Join us for a Free Family Day in celebration of International Museum Day. Free admission, gallery looking guides, and art activities for families to enjoy together. Our theme this year is Identity, so children will be creating imaginative self-portraits as well as other art projects.  Sergeant Greg Gilpin from the Saint Joseph Police Department will be here to discuss Family Safety and to hand out "Ident-a-kid" kits, which include a home fingerprinting kit. Free and open to the public. Join us for this fun event! 1-4pm.

Celebrating our 5th anniversary of Wine Tasting
"Welcome Back to the Jazz Age" and celebrate the Roaring Twenties!
This month's wine tasting takes up the theme of the Roaring Twenties to coincide with the community's reading of The Great Gatsby by F. Scott Fitzgerald, as part of St. Joseph's Big Read Project.
We will be having a “Welcome Back to the Jazz Age/Ragtime 1920’s Party and Costume Contest." So, dress up as your favorite gangster or flapper, listen to some cool jazz tunes, and have a rip-roaring evening while you learn about and sample a variety of wines. You might even win a prize in our costume contest! (Costume not required.) Joining us will be Ted Martin & Terry Weathered of Major Brands Distributing. We will feature Rodney Strong Wines. We'll have Ragtime drink samples, and will be introducing Bacardi Dragonberry Rum & Jim Beam Red Stag Whiskey. Join us for a ‘Roaring’ Good Time! Presented by Hy-Vee Wine & Spirits 5:30 - 7:30 pm. $10 person.

Pictures of Poverty Photography Exhibition.  Open for public viewing. The goal of "Pictures of Poverty" is to raise awareness of poverty in Northwest Missouri, and start a dialogue about how our community can commit to ending it. Community Action Partnership, who has organized this exhibition, hopes to reveal images of the “invisible” poor and the working poor in our community, as well as images that will inspire hope toward breaking the chains of poverty.
