LITERARY MEMORIES OF WATER: READINGS BY REGIONAL AUTHORS

In conjunction with the AKMA current exhibition “Memory of Water:  Conducting a Sense of Place in the Hydrosphere”, three regional artists will read excerpts from their works that touch on themes of water.  The readings take place on Saturday, February 24th at 2:00 pm at the Albrecht-Kemper Museum of Art.  For more information and to learn more about the artists CLICK HERE .


KIDS MEDIA MIX-UP

CLASS WILL BE CANCELLED TUESDAY, FEBRUARY 20th DUE TO WEATHER CONDITIONS. The perfect after school weekly class for your kids! ARTS & CARAFES ~ A FUN EVENING OF PAINT & WINE

COMPLIMENTARY COLOR MIXING WITH WANDA TAYLOR ~ DRAWING CLASS

This 6-week session will meet on Wednesday mornings, February 21 – March 28, 2018.  Beginner to Intermediate levels will learn how to mix color on the page to create stunning drawings.  For more information CLICK HERE


LANDSCAPE PAINTING WORKSHOP WITH DONNA BLAND

This 3-day workshop will meet Wednesday-Friday, March 7-9, 2018 (9:30am – 4:00pm).  Beginner to Intermediate levels will come away learning color value, three-dimensional painting, and creating depth and perspective in a landscape painting. For more information CLICK HERE


LANDSCAPES EN PASTEL WITH BRENT SEEVERS

This 3-day workshop will be led by Missouri Valley Impressionist (MVIS) painter, Brent Seevers.  Students will learn about materials, framing, techniques, perspective, and more in this fun and engaging class. For more information or to sign up CLICK HERE


JEREMY EATON ~ ARTIST LECTURE

Jeremy Eaton is a St. Joseph native that has been in Mumbai, Maharashtra, India since December of 2016.  He has taken his passion for people and art with him in the medium of photography. Jeremy will lecture in the Boder Theater at the Albrecht-Kemper Museum of Art on Thursday, April 12th at 6:00 pm. For more information CLICK HERE


MISSOURI WESTERN STATE UNIVERSITY & THE ALBRECHT-KEMPER MUSEUM OF ART SECOND ANNUAL UNDERGRADUATE SYMPOSIUM

Keynote Speaker, Dr. Randall Griffey, the Curator of Modern and Contemporary Art at the Metropolitan Museum of Art will address the audience on April 14, 2018.  Undergraduate Students may turn in submissions on or before March 2, 2018.  For more information CLICK HERE


SUMMER KIDS ART CAMP

Mark your calendars for June 19-22, 2018 or June 26-29, 2018.  To help accommodate busy schedules, the Albrecht-Kemper will offer two sessions of Summer Art Camp this year.  There will be a morning session for younger children (Ages 5-7) that will run from 9am-12pm, and and afternoon session for the older children (Ages 8-11) that will be 2-5pm.  The cost will be $75/AKMA Members and $90/Non-Members.  Check back for further details.
