KIDS MEDIA MIX-UP (Postponed until the end of March)

A perfect after school art class for children ages 6-12.  With a new project each Tuesday, students will construct, paint, and assemble projects ranging from sculptures, paintings, prints, and mixed media pieces.  To learn more and to sign-up online CLICK HERE.

PUBLIC ART HISTORY LECTURES AT THE AKMA 

Open to the public at no charge college-level lectures comparing and contrasting a work of art in the museum’s collection with a well-known work of art.  Everyone is welcome to attend, whether you have studied art history or not.  To learn more about the lectures CLICK HERE.


PAINTING WATER DROPLETS IN WATERCOLOR: WORKSHOP WITH LANA CEASE (Postponed)

BOLD STROKES OF LANDSCAPE PAINTING WITH DONNA BLAND (Postponed)

FOURTH ANNUAL MISSOURI WESTERN STATE UNIVERSITY & ALBRECHT-KEMPER MUSEUM OF ART UNDERGRADUATE ART HISTORY SYMPOSIUM

Join us in the museum auditorium as undergraduate students from across the nation deliver 20-minute research presentations on a variety of art historical subjects. PAINTING THE HEARTLAND WITH LARRY DEGRAFF

BEE CREATIVE: FRIDA KAHLO INSPIRED PORTRAITS

Students will get the opportunity to create a mixed media portrait inspired by Frida Kahlo’s art and techniques. When students come to class they’ll have their photo taken, then print a black and white version to use in their collage. Reserve your spot HERE.


WEST AFRICAN INDIGO RESIST AND DYE WORKSHOP WITH LORI TRIPLETT

Learn four different indigo resist dyeing techniques: wrap, bean wrap, stitch, and hand-painted resist. Participants will each receive a kit that allows them to leave with one yard of fabric dyed and ready for your next quilt. Learn more HERE.
