ALBRECHT-KEMPER MUSEUM OF ART TRIP TO VENICE AND THE DALMATION COAST
Imagine a city that has roads paved with water. A city where taxis are boats. A city with so many islands, bridges, and waterways that it is a literal watery maze. Now imagine that same city has a wealth of art history, architecture, history, craftsmanship, and a culture that is utterly unique on this planet. Golden domes, Renaissance masterpieces, singing gondoliers, and delicate glassworks: this is Venice, where we will begin our journey. After a few days getting to know one of the most famous tourist destinations in the world, we will take a short flight to the Dalmatian Coast to discover one of the rising stars in the world of tourism. The Dalmatian coast is famous for its beautiful beaches, medieval architecture, fresh seafood, stunning parks, ancient ruins, and distinctive islands.
Overall, this ten day trip will visit four countries on both sides of the Adriatic sea for a once-in-a-lifetime adventure. All air and land transportation as well as hotel costs are included as are tour admissions and breakfasts. The work of professional guides will be supplemented by “tour director” Dr. Brett Knappe. Brett will provide two optional lectures on the art, history, and culture of the region prior to the trip and will bring his knowledge of art history throughout the trip as well.
