The Missouri Music Hall of Fame will be hosting their induction ceremony at Albrecht-Kemper Museum of Art on Friday, November 25th from 5:00-6:30pm. This event is free and open to the public.
The 2022 inductee is Josephine Baker who was the first woman of color to appear in a feature film it was her massive international career as a stage performer that ultimately launched her to stardom — AND became a “cover” for her heroic actions as a spy for the French Resistance during WWII.
The 2021 ceremony was postponed due to COVID concerns, but this years ceremony will celebrate Porter Wagoner and Jason Squires who are the 2021 inductee class. From 1954 to 1983, Wagoner charted with 81 singles and 56 studio albums. He has received 3 Grammys, 3 country music awards, and was elected to the Country Music Hall of Fame in 2002. Squires was born in Saint Joseph, Missouri, but now resides in Kansas City, Missouri and is a concert and event photographer. He has shot over 1200 live concerts including AC/DC, The Rolling Stones, Kiss, Neil Young, Garth Brooks, The Who, The Police and many other leading names in the music industry.
