Have fun learning basic, practical applications of an ancient art.
Grey: “My grade school taught the “Palmer Method” of cursive lettering. It was precise and children were graded on penmanship for decades. My handwriting deteriorated as soon as it was no longer graded. Currently, Penmanship is often not taught as technology & keyboards have dominated communications with print only.
After two classes in the 1980’s at a local college in Pennsylvania and a continuing adult education class, I enjoyed using calligraphy to make and address letters & cards and free lanced for a while. It was just fun and it was supposed to improve my own handwriting.
Calligraphy is an ancient art but is still heavily employed in advertising, graphics and design, and home décor.”
In an Introduction to Calligraphy students will learn the terms and techniques to create beautiful handwriting in this four week course. This workshop will require focus. Adults and determined teens welcome.
Supplies will be provided by the instructor or students can bring their own set of tools for this class. Preregistration for supplies is required.
