Kids Media Mix-Up

Put your imagination to work by using different mediums to create unique artwork.  With a new project each week, students will construct, paint, and assemble projects ranging from sculptures, paintings, prints, and mixed media pieces – featuring Collection Connections with the AKMA permanent collection.  Perfect after school class for children ages 6-12. $12 / class or $60 for a 6-class punch-card.

HOW TO PARTICIPATE

Tuesdays, 4:30 – 6:00 pm

Autumn 2023 classes begin on Tuesday, August 22 and run through the school year.

In case of inclement weather, the museum follows Missouri Western’s policy. We will also cancel Kids Media classes if the St. Joseph School District closes.

“I get to make art and I like art. We don’t do this stuff in school. Well, we do simple projects like drawing by yourself. Really easy stuff. But art takes a lot more work than what we do in school.” – Lena, 7 years old

“I’d say Kids Media is fun, the people that work there are nice. At school, it’s different. We haven’t done a clay project [like we did in Kids Media], and we haven’t done something with foreground, middle ground, and background. I think I’m kind of a better artist now.” – Lane, 8 years old
