Did you know?

  • We welcome over 20,000 visitors per year
  • We provide educational activities for over 1,500 students
  • We encourage appreciation of the arts by creating a forum for community dialogue

Donating to the museum is easy! As a non-profit, our donors are extremely valuable to the operations of the museum as well as the offering of new programs and community outreach.

Providing access for everyone

What’s going on with the driveway? When the city of St. Joseph widened Frederick Avenue in the 1990s, it inadvertently caused our driveway to become too steep and nearly inaccessible for large vehicles, particularly school buses and commercial tour coaches. A graded and level driveway will allow us to make our site fully accessible for all – but we can’t do it without you. Help us finally reach our goal by donating today.

Will you support local arts education? At the AKMA, we foster children’s imagination in art education through our art programs, including Kids Media-Mix-Up every Tuesday evening, Summer Art Camps, and 5th-grade tours for all of the students in the St. Joseph School District.  Your generous donation will help us continue this tradition and provide further arts opportunities for St. Joseph children.

Donating to our Education Wish List just became a little easier! See the complete list of what we’re looking for to power our education initiatives–plus, you can ship directly to us. Whether you use Amazon, purchase items in a store, or even just have these items around the house, your donation makes a big impact to our education programs.

Donations for the Education Wish List can be dropped off during museum hours, by shipping directly, or by contacting Alex Asher at (816) 233-7003.
