The Painted Poster Study Workshop with Cody Wheelock
Friday, February 18, 2022 from 11:00 AM – 5:00 PM
Learn how you can vastly improve your paintings by developing a consistent poster study practice. A poster study is a small, quickly executed painting that captures the essence of a subject. Instructor Cody Wheelock will introduce students to the concept of poster studies, provide demonstrations and explain how to set up your own practice. Students will experiment with creating poster studies of their own with guidance from the instructor. While Cody will be demonstrating with oil paint, any paint media is acceptable for this workshop.

4. Gift…time well spent
Lastly, if we’ve learned anything over the past two years, it’s that we have to live life to the fullest – and spend time with the ones we love the most.
The AKMA is a safe place to spend time with that special someone, whether it is during one of our FREE monthly After Hours events (4th Tuesday of the month from 5:00 to 7:00 pm), exploring a new exhibition, telling your story through artwork, or being a catalyst in this community for others.

We cannot do this alone. AKMA members fuel our mission and make it possible for us to keep our doors open and welcome over 11,000 visitors each year. AKMA memberships start at just $15 per year for a student – and can even be paid in small monthly automatic payments starting at only $5 a month. When you are an AKMA member, you support a vibrant arts community.
Be part of our momentum in 2022.
