The Architecture of St. Joseph: The Golden Age Revisited, is a reexamination of an exhibition originally mounted in 1974. That exhibition featured 85 photographs commissioned by the museum, then known as the Albrecht Art Museum. The images recorded and documented historical buildings and homes throughout the city, many from St. Joseph’s “Golden Age” in the late 19th century. The 2024 version will be supplemented with new photographs that reflect the preservation and losses of the last 50 years as well as architectural elements salvaged from renovated and demolished buildings.
Art of the Camera: Selections from the Hatten Camera Collection, will feature a broad selection of cameras from the private collection of the Hatten family. More than a century of camera design and technology will be on display. Visitors will find familiar names like Kodak, Nikon but will also find rare & unique cameras from places like Japan & Russia.
Opening Receptions are free and open to the public. Join us Friday, July 19 from 4-7pm
Both exhibitions will run through September 15, 2024.
