Watercolor Painting with Candace Castle

  • Albrecht-Kemper Museum of Art 2818 Frederick Avenue Saint Joseph, MO, 64506 United States (map)

Join us at the Albrecht-Kemper Museum of Art for a watercolor class led by the talented Candace Castle! Candace is a St. Joseph artist who works in both oil and watercolor. Watercolor is a versatile medium that requires some familiarity with its properties. In this class, we’ll start with some basics to become familiar with brushes, paint and paper. We’ll be working with a limited palette of 3 primary colors and learn how to mix secondary colors from these. We’ll learn how to lay washes, paint some simple fruit shapes and then work on an afternoon project.

Wednesday, August 21
10am-4pm
$100 (includes lunch)

***OPTIONAL for paint and paper— For $15, I can provide 3 Daniel Smith primary colors in a 6 well palette and 2 kinds of watercolor paper —5 sheets of Bee paper 6x9” for practice and 3 sheets of Arches 9x12” for class projects. Let me know if you want to use this option so I know how much to order. You will still need to get your own brushes.
