With the help of volunteers, sponsors, and donors, the annual Pot of Gold auction is a signature event for the museum. Since its inception in 1978, the Pot of Gold auction supports the museum’s operating budget, education initiatives, and special programs.
For the 47th Pot of Gold, step into a world of espionage as we transform the evening into a thrilling celebration of elegance and intrigue. Guests are invited to dress in their finest spy-themed attire—think James Bond sophistication, secret agent allure, bold mystery. and a touch of Austin Powers flair for fun. There will be live and silent auctions, dinner, and much more!

Pre-Party & Dinner - $150

DONATE TO THE AUCTION
Items donated are sorted into live and silent auctions, with larger-valued items being sold during the live auction. Silent auction items can be bid on throughout the evening. Your items will be displayed at the event, and details of the donation will be spotlighted by our auctioneer prior to sale. All donated items are tax deductible up to the value of the item and will have a written description in the 2025 Auction Item Catalogue along with an estimated retail value.
We can pick up your donated items at a time that is convenient for you, or you may drop them off during regular museum hours. To request an item pick-up, please call Jackie Butler, 2025 Pot of Gold Chairperson, at (816) 387-3149.
Invitations to Pot of Gold are sent to approximately 850 members of our museum community and special guests!
