Calligraphy Workshop with Jo Anne Grey

  • Albrecht-Kemper Museum of Art 2818 Frederick Avenue Saint Joseph, MO, 64506 United States (map)

Discover the beauty and practicality of an ancient art form in this engaging introduction to calligraphy. Jo Anne first explored calligraphy in the 1980s through college courses in Pennsylvania, followed by continuing education classes. What started as a fun hobby—intended to improve her own handwriting—soon became a passion, leading her to freelance creating custom letters and cards.

Though centuries old, calligraphy remains widely used today in advertising, graphic design, and home décor. In this three-week course, students will learn essential terms and techniques to craft elegant, expressive lettering. This workshop requires focus and patience, making it ideal for adults and dedicated teens eager to develop their skills!
