Take a field trip with the museum on our second annual plein air art event! The peonies will be in bloom at the Don Hollingsworth Peony Nursery near Maryville, Missouri. This is a great opportunity for artists to take some reference photos, make art in the great outdoors, or just enjoy the beauty of this fantastic nursery.
Cuttings and bouquets will be for sale just in time for Mother's Day. Sandwiches and chips will be available purchase from a local café for picnicking on the farm. These additions are cash only.
Those wanting to caravan to the Nursery will meet at the AKMA at 9:00am. We plan to arrive by 10:00am. The farm is a 40 minute drive, so ask your friends to carpool.
We will be outdoors in uncertain weather all day, so plan accordingly to traipse around a giant garden! Suggested supplies: mud boots, umbrella, sunscreen, insect repellant, camp chair, sunglasses, sun hat, water bottles, snacks, etc.
Registration is $10.
